How many hours did you actually work?
Pick a start time and an end time, using either a 12-hour clock with AM and PM or a 24-hour clock. Add the unpaid break in minutes and the page subtracts it from the span. The answer is shown as hours:minutes and as a decimal, so it fits a paper log or a spreadsheet column equally well.
If the end time is earlier than the start time, the page reads it as the next day. That is how a night shift from 10:00 PM to 6:15 AM works without any special setting. A shift can therefore never come out negative by accident.
Need a day with a split shift, or a whole week? Use Add row. Each row has its own start, end and break, and the page totals all of them at the bottom. A morning and an evening session on the same day are just two rows.
This tool is about work and shift hours. If you only want the plain gap between two moments, with dates and seconds, the duration calculator is the better fit.

Questions about this calculator
Do I enter the break as a time or a number?
As a number of minutes, for example 30 or 45. Leave it at zero for no break.
Where does the unpaid break go?
Each row has its own break box in minutes. It is taken off that row only, so a long lunch on one day does not affect the others.
Can I use 24-hour times such as 17:30?
Yes. Both styles are accepted, and you can mix them between rows.
Why is 8:20 shown as 8.33?
Twenty minutes is one third of an hour, and 0.33 is that fraction rounded to two places.
