Privacy policy

The short version: the tools run on your device and what you enter is not sent to us. This page covers the technical data that is collected and why.

Who we are

This policy applies to timetoolset.com, a website run by the TimeToolSet team. It describes what information is handled when you use the site. For data protection purposes, the operator of the site and the party responsible for the information described here is TimeToolSet, which you can reach at hello@timetoolset.com. The contact page explains how to ask a question.

What you enter into the tools

TimeToolSet has no accounts, no database and no server code of its own. The times, dates and plans you enter into a tool are processed on your device, in your browser, and are not sent to us. We cannot see them and we do not keep them.

Some tools remember your choices, such as your sound choice, saved layouts or a session log. These are kept in your browser's local storage on your device only. They are never uploaded to us, and you can remove them at any time (see the cookie policy). Share links work by putting the tool's settings in the web address itself, so anyone who has the link can see those settings. Do not put anything private into a link you plan to share.

What is collected and why

Like any website, the service that delivers it handles some technical data when your browser asks for a page. We use it to run, secure and improve the site.

  • Your IP address and basic request details, such as the page asked for, the browser type and the time. These are handled by our hosting provider so that pages can be delivered and abuse can be blocked.
  • Browser and device information, such as the browser name, screen size and language, which helps us check that tools work on the devices people use.
  • Pages visited and how people move around the site. This comes from Google Analytics and is used as aggregate usage statistics to decide which tools to improve.

Analytics and advertising

We use Google Analytics 4 for aggregate usage statistics. It runs with consent mode, which means visitors in the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area and Switzerland are asked for their choice first. Until a visitor there accepts, no analytics cookies are set. Google Analytics then receives only limited signals that carry no cookie identifier, such as the page address, browser details and a timestamp, and, as with any request, the visitor's IP address reaches Google's servers. Analytics measurements stay in the analytics account for no longer than the retention period set there, which is a maximum of 14 months.

We also plan to show advertising through Google AdSense at a later date. Advertising uses cookies. In the UK and EEA, personalised ads need your consent first. Anywhere in the world you can manage how Google personalises ads through Google's own ad settings. We do not sell personal data.

The consent banner described in the cookie policy is in place. Advertising is not switched on yet, and it will be added only once the banner covers it.

Third parties

Cloudflare hosts the site. It handles requests to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks, and it may add its own basic web analytics and security cookies or headers. Google provides Google Analytics, and Google AdSense once ads are active. These companies handle data under their own privacy policies, which you can read on their websites. Tool pages may link to other sites, which have their own policies that we do not control.

Cloudflare and Google may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States. They describe the safeguards they use for those transfers in their own privacy policies.

How long information is kept

Because we do not receive what you enter into the tools, there is nothing of that kind to keep. Analytics data is kept for the period set in the analytics account, a maximum of 14 months. Hosting and security logs are kept by the hosting provider under its own retention rules. Settings in local storage stay on your device until you clear them. Emails sent to us are kept only as long as needed to answer them and follow up.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over personal data held about you, such as asking what is held, asking for it to be corrected or deleted, or objecting to certain uses. You can also change or withdraw your consent for analytics and advertising at any time (see the cookie policy). To make a request or ask a question, use the contact page. If you are in the UK or EEA and are not satisfied with our answer, you may also contact your local data protection authority.

Where the law asks for a legal basis, we rely on your consent for analytics and advertising cookies in the UK and EEA, and on our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and working for hosting and security logs. We do not sell personal data. If you live in a US state with a privacy law, you can opt out of personalised advertising through the choices described in the cookie policy, or email us with a request. The site does not respond to Do Not Track signals, so please use those choices instead.

Children

TimeToolSet is a general-audience site. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site changes, for example when advertising is switched on. The current version is always the one on this page. This page is a plain-language description of our practices and is not legal advice.
