Elapsed time between two moments
This calculator measures the gap itself. It does not know about breaks, pay periods or shifts. You give it a first moment and a second moment, and it reports how much time lies between them: days, hours, minutes and seconds.
Dates are optional. With times only, the page assumes the second moment is the next occurrence of that time, so 11:20 PM to 1:05 AM reads as a crossing of midnight. When the moments are more than a day apart, fill in both dates and the result includes whole days.
Seconds are accepted in both time boxes. That makes the tool useful for log entries, video timestamps, flight legs and other cases where the exact gap matters more than a rounded figure.
If your real question is "how many hours was my shift, minus lunch", the hours calculator takes a break field and totals several rows. Use this page when you want the raw distance between two points on the clock.

Questions about this calculator
What if I leave the dates blank?
The second time is treated as the next time it occurs after the first, so the gap is always less than 24 hours.
Does it adjust for clock changes?
It uses the dates and times you type as plain calendar values. If your span crosses a daylight saving change, the real elapsed time can differ by an hour.
Can it show the answer in hours only?
The result is split into days, hours, minutes and seconds. For a single unit, add the days as 24 hours each: 2 d 6 h 30 min is 54.5 hours.
