Three minutes for a short talk or a short break

Three minutes is 180 seconds, a common length for lightning talks, a short speech in a language class, or a quick hand-off update at a shift change. It is also a handy size for a breather between tasks when you do not want the pause to drag on.

The display shows big digits and a disc that empties as time goes. An "Ends at" line shows when it will ring, so a presenter or a host can see the finish time before they begin. It reads your device clock, which keeps it correct in a background tab.

Tap the sound options to choose the bell, chime, beep or rising tone. Use R to reset between speakers. Copy link carries your sound choice, so if you run an event on two screens, both can open on the same setup.

Many songs and short videos run about three minutes, and people also use the length for turn-taking in conversation circles. When each person in a group of five gets three minutes, the whole round is fifteen minutes, which is easy to fit into a meeting agenda.

Questions about this timer

Is 180 seconds the same as three minutes?

Yes, 3 x 60 = 180.

Will I hear it if the room is noisy?

Try the digital beep or rising tone first. They carry further than the soft bell.

Can another person start it from a different device?

Each device runs its own timer. Share the link so each opens the same setup, then start them together.
