A 10 minute timer for short, fixed jobs
Press Start and the timer notes the finish time from your device clock, then counts toward it. It reads the clock again on every tick instead of counting ticks, so a slow background tab shows the right time when you come back.
Ten minutes suits a tidy-up sprint, a timed reading slot, a presentation run-through or a stand-up meeting. It also works as a "just start" rule: work on a task you have been avoiding until the bell, then decide whether to carry on.
The "Ends at" line shows the clock time it will ring, so you can tell a room when to be back. Change the sound under the buttons. Copy link keeps your sound choice in the address, so the same setup opens on another device.
Ten minutes is also a round number for dividing a longer task. Six runs make an hour, and a pile of small jobs can each get one run. If a job is still not done at the bell, you can reset and give it another ten, or move on to the next one on your list.
Questions about this timer
Does it keep time if I switch tabs?
The timer works from your device clock, so the time is right when you return to the tab. Some phones stop sound while the screen is locked, so test your own device before you rely on it.
Can I run it full screen?
Yes. Press F or use the Full screen button. Press Esc to leave.
Is a 10 minute timer the same as a 600 second timer?
Yes. Ten minutes is exactly 600 seconds.
