Forty minutes for a lesson period or a long session

Forty minutes is a common length for a school lesson period in many countries, and a sensible limit for a long study session or a mock test. It is two thirds of an hour, so the remaining twenty minutes fit another block.

Teachers can put it on the board in full screen so the class sees the finish clock time, while a student can keep it in a pinned tab beside their notes. The "Ends at" line makes it easy to plan, for example 10:10 AM finishing at 10:50 AM.

Choose the sound that works in your room and use R to reset between sessions. The page asks the screen to stay awake while running, as far as the browser allows. Copy link carries your sound choice.

For a class, a 40 minute countdown on the wall lets students pace themselves without asking how long is left. Students can then plan their own work, such as spending the first fifteen minutes on a task, and the clock time at the bottom of the display shows the exact finish.
