Gantt chart maker

List your tasks, give each a start date and a length in days, and the bars appear on a timeline with a line for today. Nothing leaves your browser.

Draw a project timeline from a simple task list

Each task is one row with four fields: a name, a start date, a length in days and a colour. Change any field and the bar moves to match. Bars sit on a ruler that you can switch between days and weeks, so a three-day job and a three-month project both stay readable. A vertical line marks today, which makes it easy to see what should already be under way.

Above the chart, a summary shows the project start, the project end and the total span in days. The span runs from the earliest start to the latest finish, so a gap between two tasks counts toward it. That one number is handy when someone asks how long the whole thing takes.

Bars cannot be dragged with the mouse. You edit the date and length fields instead, which is slower for a quick sketch but exact for a plan you will share. Colours help you group work, for example one colour per team, per phase or per supplier.

When the chart looks right, export it as a PNG for a slide or message, or print it and choose Save as PDF in your browser. Copy link stores the plan in the address, so pasting it on another device reopens the same tasks. The tool runs entirely on your device and uploads nothing, so a task list for a private project stays private. That also means the link is the only copy: if you want to keep the plan, save the link or the PNG.

Questions about this tool

Can I drag the bars to reschedule a task?

No. Dragging is not supported, so you change the start date or the length in the task row and the bar updates. It takes a few more keystrokes but gives exact dates.

Does it show task dependencies?

No. It draws bars, a today line and a start, end and span summary. If one task must wait for another, set its start date after the first one finishes.

How do I get the chart into a document or slide?

Use the PNG export for an image you can paste anywhere. For a paper or PDF copy, use print and pick Save as PDF as the destination.

Is my project saved anywhere?

Only in the link. Copy link puts the tasks in the web address, and nothing is sent to a server. Keep that link, or export a PNG, if you want to come back to the plan.

What does the total span count?

It counts days from the earliest start date to the latest end date. Idle days between tasks are included because the project is still running.
