Ten seconds for pauses, holds and quick answers
Ten seconds is the length for very short jobs: a pause to think before answering, a "freeze" game with friends, a countdown before a photo, a short wait while a page loads, or a quick turn in a party game.
Because it is so short, speed matters. Press Space to start, press R to reset and Space again, all without touching the mouse. The digits are large enough to read from across the room, and the disc empties quickly so the passing time is obvious.
The "Ends at" line shows the exact second it will ring, such as 4:00:10 PM for a 4:00:00 PM start. Pick the sound you want. A sharp digital beep suits a game, and a soft bell suits a calm pause.
At this speed, accuracy of your own reaction matters more than the clock. If you want to compare attempts, start the timer with the keyboard rather than the mouse, and stand or sit in the same place each time. The disc empties quickly, so it also makes a good visual countdown for children.
