How long until the next birthday
Enter a birth date once and the page works out the next birthday after today on your device. It shows the date in full, the weekday it lands on, the age that person will turn, and the days left. Below that, a live countdown ticks in days, hours, minutes and seconds.
The weekday line helps with planning. A birthday on a Tuesday might mean a dinner on the nearest Saturday, and a Sunday birthday might mean booking a day earlier. The age line is useful for cards, cakes and banners, where the number is what people forget.
If the birthday is today, the page says so rather than jumping a year ahead, so you can see it on the day itself. From the next day the countdown restarts toward the following year.
This page counts down only. To see how old someone is right now, with months, days and total days lived, open the age calculator. The two tools use the same birth date format, so it is quick to switch between them.

Questions about this tool
What if my birthday is today?
The page shows that the birthday is today and the age you have just turned, instead of counting toward next year.
Can I use it for someone else's birthday?
Yes. Enter any birth date. Nothing is stored, so you can try as many as you like.
Does it include the time of birth?
No. The countdown aims for midnight at the start of the birthday on your device clock.
