Nine minutes: just short of ten
Nine minutes is a slightly unusual length, and people who search for it usually have a particular reason. Some phone alarms use a nine minute snooze gap, and some people like to finish a task one minute before a ten minute deadline.
Use it to leave a one minute buffer before a ten minute slot, for example nine minutes of talking and a minute for questions, or nine minutes of practice before a hand-in. The clock time on the "Ends at" line tells you when to stop and when the slot formally closes.
The disc empties as time passes and the tab title shows the time left. Choose a sound, press F for full screen and use Space to start or pause. Copy link keeps your sound choice for another device or another person.
The nine minute length is also a good way to build in margin. If a taxi, a bus or a call starts on the hour, a nine minute countdown that you start at ten to the hour leaves you a small gap to log off, stand up and move. Margins like that are easy to forget without a timer.
