Twenty minutes for focused work or a short lesson

Twenty minutes is one third of an hour. People use it for a sprint of focused reading, a short lesson segment, a timed practice test section, or a standing time limit for something they would otherwise let run on, like checking email or tidying up.

It pairs well with a break rule. Work for twenty minutes, stop at the bell and decide what to do next. Three of them add up to one hour, which makes planning an afternoon of stacked blocks simple.

The "Ends at" line shows the finish clock time, and the disc and digits show how much is left. Switch the sound if you are in a shared space, press F for full screen and use Space to pause. Copy link carries your sound choice.

A twenty minute limit also works as a boundary for activities that can swell, like browsing, social media or planning. Start the countdown, do the job, and when the bell goes, stop and move to the next thing. It is a plain rule, and you can change it to ten or thirty any time.
