Pacific time for an India audience
India is 13 hours 30 minutes ahead of Pacific time in January and 12 hours 30 minutes ahead in July. A 9:00 AM start in San Francisco is 10:30 PM in India in January and 9:30 PM in July. Enter a Pacific time or press Use now and the India time appears.
This is the widest of the common US to India pairs. The two working days sit almost opposite each other, so anything the West Coast wants from India is normally an evening call there or an early one here. A 7:30 PM Pacific message arrives at 9:00 AM the next morning in India in January, and 8:00 AM in July, which is when the Indian workday starts.
Because India never changes its clocks, the one-hour seasonal change comes from the Pacific side. A fixed Pacific time lands an hour earlier on the India clock after the spring change. The hour-by-hour table shows a 9:00 to 17:00 Pacific day on the India clock, where most hours land between late evening and the early morning.
In many cases the date flips. 10:30 AM Pacific in January is midnight in India, which is 12:00 AM of the next day. The result states when the date has moved. Use swap to go from India time to Pacific.

Questions about this tool
What is the gap between PST and IST?
13.5 hours in winter and 12.5 hours in summer, with India ahead.
Is there a time that suits both a West Coast and an India workday?
Not within standard hours. The nearest options are an early Pacific morning, which is late evening in India, or a late Pacific evening, which is early morning in India.
Why does my result say PDT?
The date you chose falls in the daylight saving season on the Pacific coast, so PDT is in effect.
